Monster Jam "Grave Digger"

Monster Jam TicketsIf there was a more famous truck in the racing and performance truck industry, we don't know what it is. This truck is so popular and so famous that it has had 20 different copies of itself, all bragging a new model or feature. The only exception is the number 13 truck, which was skipped due to superstition.

The original truck has been dismantled and is currently sitting in the back of the Grave Digger shop. It did, however, make an appearance at the World Finals 8 in 2007. Number two was a leaf-sprung race truck, which has been rebuilt as an attraction and sits in front of the shop to draw visitors. The third was a 4-link race truck that was rebuilt in 1999 becoming Inferno. Grave Digger 4 was much like the second version as a leaf-spring race truck. This copy, however, only ran for a few months. Number 5 was much the same, running for a few months before the chassis was sold to another truck operator. The body is currently in the team store as a jungle gym for children. GD 6 was rebuilt, making it the Son of a Digger mud bogger. The next two were both 4-link race trucks that were retired. Number 7 is on display at headquarters, and 8 was in a temporary exhibit in a Chicago museum. GD 9 is a ride truck which was sold and is currently the Extinguisher ride truck. Number 10 is also a 4-link race truck, and was run by Pablo Huffaker, but had been retired and scrapped. GD 11 was sold becoming the War Wizard ride truck.

The rest have many similarities, and some of them are still running. GD's 12, 14-16, and 18-20 are still driven by Gary Porter, Chad Tingler, Charlie Pauken, Pablo Huffaker, Rod Schmidt, Randy Brown and Dennis Anderson respectively. Number 17 got special treatment, being modified into a Pro Modified drag racer after being sponsored by the team.

The latest Grave Digger, number 21 is the "Advanced Auto Parts Grave Digger Experience". It is a custom built 4-link truck with a video presentation. It is used as a display for Advance.

The trucks began as Fords, but switched to the 1950 Chevy Panel Van body for the most recent trucks. The body paint includes letters dripping blood, and a foggy graveyard with names of competitors on the headstones.

If you haven't checked out this incredible competition, and if you haven't witnessed the Grave Digger itself, you are definitely overdue. Get your Monster Jam tickets and enjoy the greatest in monster truck racing and performance.
